As a
graduate and native of this area, my wife and I have enjoyed its beauty and
serenity with the fresh air, 3 major rivers, and 2 large lakes and rolling
hills with their everchanging beauty, of the timber, during our 4 seasons.
Upon
obtaining my education degree from ASU, I taught in the Mountain Home Public
school, as well as becoming director and instructor of the Veterans farm
program. During this period, I obtained a real estate license and shortly
thereafter began my own Real Estate Company. The following, 50 + years,
saw the inclusion of rural land sub-diving and financing, along with the
development of Camp Real Estate School.
The school
was State wide in offerings of real estate education to licensees, both
privately as well as to banks, Colleges, and many years for the Arkansas Real
Estate Commission (AREC) and Arkansas Realtors® Association (ARA).
The Camp
Real Estate school obtained great success, offering both classroom and distance
education. The distance education offerings excelled under the management
of my nephew Kyle Camp, who now serves as an Executive Broker and Branch
Manager within this C21 firm. During the 40+ years of the school, further
educational professional designations were obtained. I was able to
obtain the professional industry designations of: G.R.I., C.R.S., C.R.B., and
NAR Professional Standards Instructor.
Realtor®
involvement included serving in all officer positions of the local board, State
Association as President, and the National Association of Realtors® as a member
of the board of directors, executive committee member and Regional
Vice-President. I was humbled by receiving during my career the honor of
being named one year, by the Arkansas Realtors® Association, as the “Realtor of
the Year” for the state of Arkansas. During the year as ARA President in
1986, I was able to introduce “Arkansas Special Olympics” into the Arkansas
Realtors® community support program. it stills continues to provide both
hands on volunteerism, as well as fund raising. It is now reported to be
over 3 Million dollars which Arkansas Realtors® have raised up to the
present. I was blessed to have served on its board of directors and be
the summer games announcer for the Arkansas Special Olympics, in excess of 20
years.
Likewise, I
have, and I continue to support the Mountain Home Christian Academy
(MHCA). I am pleased to have served on its Board of Directors for 17
years, serving a majority of time as the Chairman, until recently when I
personally decided to voluntarily step down from the Board.
I attribute
my leadership skills to having been developed early in life by my involvement
in FFA public speaking and an encouraging teacher. Likewise, my parents
encouraging my involvement in Church, and Church leadership activities, as well
as many others who gave me an opportunity to advance the necessary skills.
Of my many
blessings, the second greatest blessing in my life is my wife Carolyn of
56+ years and our children. My wife has always been, and continues to be,
my greatest daily supporter and encourager in life. However, in first
place, being the greatest blessing of all, is having God as my Father and
the salvation made available through his Son, Jesus. My wife and I attend
the Mountain Home Church of Christ. I have been privileged to have served
in multiple leadership capacities within the Church over the years.
Working with a mission effort in Haiti for the past several years has seen the
caring for several orphans, needy Christians and the drilling of fresh water
wells in the rural areas, to prevent the continued diseases of drinking from
the polluted steams. Over 35 wells have been drilled to this point with
the support from Christians in our area.
I would hope
that all I have been, or will involved in, will be recognized as a
blessing from God and may He receive the glory and thanks in all things.
